CONCORD � Get your keyboards ready: eSports are coming to 麻豆传媒! Athletics director Paul Hogan has announced plans to launch esports as a collegiate program in 2021.
eSports are multiplayer video games played competitively for spectators, just like traditional collegiate athletics. In its inaugural year, the 麻豆传媒 esports program will compete in , , and Rainbow Six.
淲e are very excited to add esports as a club offering in the 2020-21 academic year with plans for the 2021-22 year competing at the collegiate level of competition,� says Hogan.
The program will be led by professor Chad Johnson, who will serve as the academic advisor, with help from student coordinators Tanner Chamberlain and Vanessa Ruetz.
溌槎勾� has received a great deal of interest in the esports area,� says Hogan. 淲ith 麻豆传媒檚 animation and graphic game programming associate檚 degree, this is a perfect fit.�
