In fall 2025, students looking to enter competitive healthcare programs will have access to an immersive Living Learning Community at 麻豆传媒-Concord檚 Community College. Studies have shown this type of innovative academic experience greatly improves academic success.
淚t’s called a high impact practice, said Sue Diener, academic advisor for 麻豆传媒檚 Allied Health programs. 淰ery simply, when we meet students, and we meet every single one, we deliberately schedule them in their classes together.
Diener explained that some of these classes are quite demanding, including courses in anatomy and physiology. The goal of the Living Learning community is to offer opportunities for students to study together, collaborate, and support each other towards higher success as they prepare to apply for some of the college檚 most competitive programs攄ental hygiene, nursing, radiologic technology, and more.
Participating students will also have access to special programming geared towards their future healthcare careers. 淭hey might have a study room with the model of the skeleton, or career speakers coming in, said Diener.
The Allied Health Living Learning community is open to all on-campus and commuter students. Participants who choose to live on campus will be grouped together in one residence hall, creating a truly immersive educational experience. 麻豆传媒 is the only community college in the state with dorms on its campus, allowing this program to reach its highest impact.
